Treetops, the hotel in the trees, is famous in the world. Peop1e know little about Kenya, but they know of Treetops. When King George VI died, Princess Elizabeth was staying on the Treetops, and when she came down from there, “She succeeded him as the queen of the country”.

The hotel is in the middle of the forest, and it shows the pleasure of Africa. When you visit it, you will be sent into the heart of the forest by hotel buses, and then a guide, with a gun to protect you against big game, will go with you to the Treetops. Before and after dinner, for the whole night if you wish, you can sit on the corridor(走廊), watching animals come to the water pool. The earliest hotel Treetops was built round a large tree on the opposite side of the water, but that was destroyed by fire and the new hotel Treetops, which is built round several trees, is much bigger.

The dining room at Treetops is small, and the waiters cannot walk round to serve guests, so a clever “railway service” has been invented. Guests take their food as it passes slowly in front of them, along a line in the center of the table.

There are many animals around the Treetops. When you visit them, you can see:

---Animals and their babies are waiting to greet the guests.

---Animals, enjoying the Treetops pool in the daylight.

---A long bodied, long ring tailed very active cat-like animal is a special one coming out at night. He hunts and eats anything he can catch and is very destructive. He lives in the trees at Treetops. He comes for his food every evening. Do not get too near to him, as his teeth and claws(爪)can do you harm. These animals can be trained and become lovely pets.

My house is made out of wood, glass and stone. It is also made out of software.
If you come to visit, you’ll probably be surprised when you come in. Someone will give you an electronic PIN (个人身份号码)to wear. This PIN tells the house who and where you are. The house uses this information to give you what you need. When it’s dark outside, the PIN turns on the lights nearest you, and then turns them off as you walk away from them. Music moves with you too. If the house knows your favorite music, it plays it. The music seems to be everywhere, but in fact other people in the house hear different music or no music. If you get a telephone call, only the nearest telephone rings.
Of course, you are also able to tell the house if you want something. There is a home control console (控制台), a small machine that turns things on and off around you.
The PIN and the console are new ideas, but they are in fact like many things we have today. If you want to go to a movie, you need a ticket. If I give you my car keys, you can use my car. The car works for you because you have the keys. My house works for you because you wear the PIN or hold the console.
I believe that ten years from now, most new homes will have the systems that I’ve put in my house. The systems will probably be even bigger and better than the ones I’ve put in today.
I like to try new ideas. I know that some of my ideas will work better than others. But I hope that one day I will stop thinking of these systems as new, and ask myself instead, “How will I live without them?”
66. What does the passage mainly discuss?
   A. How to develop a new system.                                          B. The function of the PIN.
   C. A home for the future.                                                         D. Easy life in the future.
67. What’s the purpose when the writer wrote the fourth paragraph?
   A. To let readers know why his ideas are new.
   B. To let readers know how special his house is.
   C. To explain the importance of the PIN and the console.
   D. To explain more easily what the functions of the PIN and the console are.
68. The writer’s new house is different from ordinary ones mainly because _____.
   A. it has been controlled by computers
   B. you can make a telephone call anywhere
   C. it has your favorite music following you
   D. the writer is able to change his new idea into practice
69. What is the writer most likely to be according to the passage?
   A. An IT expert.                                                                                       B. A famous doctor.

C. An idealist                                                                                          D. An experienced teacher.
70. What can’t be done in the writer’s new house?
   A. turns on the lights                                                                                    B. play music
   C. get a telephone call                                                                      D. go swimming

[1]Swimming is one of those activities that can be learned early in life. Little children can learn to swim as soon as they walk. In fact, you need the same skills in walking as in swimming. However, I believe that five is the best age to learn. By five or six, a child knows fear of water, a very important thing to know. It’s wise to be afraid, to recognize true danger. Young ones understand that the water can sometimes be very dangerous.

[2]To really benefit from swimming, every swimmer should learn ______butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke(蛙泳), and crawl(自由泳). I feel that one of these—the breaststroke—is different from the others, since some young swimmers use this stroke naturally, without any training.

[3]In swimming, there are certain rules every swimmer should follow:

★ Never swim alone! No matter how good you are in the water, don’t risk drowning by swimming alone. If you swim by yourself, with no life guards or friends with you, you may get into trouble.

★ Don’t go beyond your abilities. Most swimmers know enough not to swim too far from the bank or the beach. Showing off by doing dangerous tricks is no good. Swim safely and you will continue to swim and alive.

★ Don’t smoke. Swimming depends on a healthy body; good lungs are part of it.

★ Work at any activity that builds muscles.
